What is herpes?
Herpes is an infectious disease and it is caused by herpes simplex virus 1. It is highly contagious disease and can easily transmit from one person to other (skin to skin contact). The herpes simplex virus also known as HSV, is an infection that causes herpes. Herpes virus are categorized into two types – HSV1 (oral herpes), HSV2 (genital herpes). Most commonly, HSV1 causes sores around the mouth, lips and sometimes its looks like fever blisters. HSV 2 caused by genital herpes and in this disease the infected person has sores around genitals and rectum. Although genital herpes sores may occur in other parts also, basically these sores found below the waist.
- HSV 1- This is the type which generally causes cold sores or fever blisters around your mouth. It can be spread through your genital area during oral sex and recurrences of HSV 1 are much less frequent than that of HSV 2.
- HSV2 – This is the type that generally causes genital herpes. This disease spread through sexual contact and skin to skin contact. HSV 2 is highly contagious disease, whether you have or not an open sore.(whether you have open cold sores or not)
Symptoms of herpes virus typically appear as a blister or as a multiple blisters on or around your affected areas, usually the mouth, lips, genitals and rectums. Other symptom of genital herpes is pain during urination. Additionally you may experience other symptoms of herpes including fever, swollen lymph nodes, tiredness and lack of appetite. HSV can also spread through eyes and this condition is called keratitis. This can cause symptoms like eye pain, a gritty feeling in the eye.

Home Remedies for Herpes

Epsom salt bath
Taking Epsom salt bath is the easiest and amazing way to reduce outbreaks. Before you take Epsom salt bath dry your skin properly. Wet tea bag

If you apply milk on your sores, it will increase the healing process and reduce the pain. Milk is very natural ingredient as well as affordable. Use a cotton ball and dip into milk and directly apply on your affected area of the skin.
